The Spring Festival is one of the most important days for all people in China. It’s to celebrate the lunar calendar’s new year . Most people spend the Spring Festival at home. Most companies, shops, school, and government offices are closed during that time. Of course, all people are very busy, people spend a few days cleaning their houses completely. In the evening before the Spring Festival, families get together and have a big meal .It is common to have a bag dinner with family members or friends at home. Dumplings and baozi are the most traditional food . In many places people like to set off firecrackers, it is a feast for your eyes when you see a lot of fireworks in the sky. Children like the festival very much, because they can have delicious food and wear new clothes. Children are busy with getting the gifts from their parents and relatives. They can also get some money from their parents. This money is given to children for good luck. People put New Year scrolls on the wall for good fortune. Besides, some families put up some new paintings. Others wear new coats and visit temples to pray for happiness and health through out the New Year. So every year they hoped that the Spring Festival would come soon. Now, although people’s life is much better, and we can eat the delicious foods everyday. People still like the festival because most people can have a long holiday, and we are free to go on a trip or visit our friends or have parties with our family. In the evenings, we can have a big meal in the restaurant or stay at home with family and watch the TV programmes. The Spring Festival lasts about 15 days long . When it comes to the Lantern Festival, people will come to the park which is decorated by many beautiful lanterns. The Lantern Festival falls on the 15th day of the 1st lunar month, there are many different beliefs about the origin of the Lantern Festival. One legend tells us that it was a time to worship Taiyi, the God of Heaven in ancient times. According to the Chinese tradition,at the very beginning of a new year,when there is a bright full moon hanging in the sky,there should be thousands of colorful lanterns hung out for people to appreciate.
Of course, there are also a lot of traditions in the the Spring Festival, all the people in China hope that the Spring Festival will become popular throughout the world.
