Oakden and Leonite (2011) define reverse logistics as “the process of handling items as they travel back through a supply”.Murphy and Wood (2011) put forward three critical factors reverse logistics should focus on.They include why products are returned,how to optimize reverse logistics and whether reverse logistics should be managed internally or outsourced to a third party.Murphy and Wood (2011) argue that four (4) principal types of economic utility add value to a product or service.They include possession utility,form utility,place utility,and time utility.
